Its a Long Way to the Floor
This novella takes the reader on a lighthearted journey of
how yoga changed David physically, mentally and spiritually.
It also looks at questions such as where and how one should
practice, the difference between good and bad pain, whether
yoga can be practiced outside of religion and how simply slowing
one's breath can calm a person down.
David does a wonderful job of describing
his personal experiences of his epic journey into the world
of yoga and consciousness.

As we are reminded by the German
poet Rainer Maria Rilke, each man has the choice; either
to go away from the safety of the known toward a church
that stands somewhere in the East or to stay within the
familiar and die there, inside the dishes and in the glasses.
My heart is forever gladdened by men who, having chosen
to journey deeply into yoga, have followed through by sharing
their adventure with others. David Byck recounts his quest
in a uniquely personal and absorbing manner.
I enjoyed reading every page.
